Patrol Division
The backbone of the department. Patrol deputies respond to calls for service, conduct traffic enforcement, and maintain a visible presence across all seven townships — 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Investigations Division
Detectives handle major crimes including homicide, robbery, fraud, and narcotics. The division also operates the county's cold-case unit, which has solved nine historic cases since 2015.

Corrections Division
Operates the 120-bed Braal County Detention Center, manages inmate transport, and runs rehabilitation and work-release programs in partnership with county social services.

Communications Division
The county's 911 dispatch center answers over 60,000 calls annually and coordinates response for the sheriff's department, three municipal police departments, and county fire services.

Court Services Division
Provides security for the Braal County Courthouse, serves civil process and warrants, and manages courtroom safety for judges, juries, and the public.

Training & Standards
Runs the department's field training program, annual in-service certification, firearms qualifications, and the Braal County Citizens Academy open to residents each spring.
